While schools are closed for at least the next few weeks due to the spread of COVID-19 in Ohio, local districts are finding ways to keep students fed.

The Zanesville City School District has opted to prepare weekly meal packages for students that are intended to last five days.

Beginning Friday, March 20, students can pick up their meals between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at several locations within the City including:

  • Zanesville High School
  • Zanesville Middle School
  • Zane Grey Intermediate
  • Zanes Grey Elementary
  • John McIntire Elementary
  • National Road Elementary
  • The War Veteran’s Park located at the corner of Putnam Avenue and Ontario Street

Meal packages will be distributed in a drive-up manner in the interest of health and safety. However, students who walk up to receive their food will not be turned away.

In addition to the drive-up locations, the Zanesville City Schools are partnering with the Zanesville Metropolitan Housing Authority to distribute meals to students residing in ZMHA residences within the school district.

Those intending to receive a meal should fill out a meal survey as soon as possible.

The survey can be accessed here: Food Survey.
