Following Thursday’s announcement by Governor DeWine prohibiting gatherings of over 100 people, events and gatherings across Muskingum County are being canceled to limit the spread of the Coronavirus.

Church Service and Events

• Frazeysburg United Methodist Church:
  • Service for both Sunday, March 15 and Sunday, March 22 are canceled.
  • Soup Suppers for both Wednesday, March 18 and Wednesday, March 25 are canceled.
• Dresden United Methodist Church: Service for both Sunday, March 15 and Sunday, March 22 are canceled.
• Adamsville United Methodist Church: Service for both Sunday, March 15 and Sunday, March 22 are canceled.
• Rolling Plains United Methodist Church: Service for both Sunday, March 15 and Sunday, March 22 are canceled, however, service will be live-streamed online at 9:45 a.m. both days.

Events

• Dresden Volunteer Fire Department: The Baked Steak Dinner scheduled for Sunday, March 15 is canceled.
• United Way of Muskingum Perry and Morgan Counties: 2020 Tax Clinic Services are canceled. Perry County appointments will continue as scheduled.
• Secrest Auditorium: Has suspended all events until further notice.
• Women of Achievement: Has been postponed until Wednesday, May 20.
• Dog N Jog: Will be rescheduled at a later date.
• Weasel Boy: The indoor farmers’ market scheduled for Saturday, March 14 has been canceled.
• PAWS of Muskingum County: Spay and Neuter clinic registration at John McIntire library canceled March 16 and 30. Register over the phone by calling (740) 221-7278.

Schools and Events

• The Catholic Schools of Zanesville
  • The Junior High St. Patrick’s Day Dance on Friday, March 13 is canceled.
  • The High School Winter Sports recognition planned for Sunday, March 15 has been postponed.
• Tri-Valley: School will be closed through Friday, April 3 pending future actions by the Governor.
• West Muskingum: School will be closed through Friday, April 3 pending future actions by the Governor.
• Zanesville: Schools will close starting Tuesday, March 17 through Friday, April 3 pending future actions by the Governor.
• East Muskingum: Schools will be closed Monday, March 16 through Friday, April 3 pending future actions by the Governor.
• Maysville: Schools will be closed Monday, March 16 through Friday, April 3 pending further actions by the Governor.
• Franklin: Schools will be closed starting Monday, March 16 through Friday, April 3 pending future actions by the Governor.
• Mid-East: Schools will be closed Monday, March 16 through Friday, April 3 pending future actions by the Governor.
• Muskingum County Library System: Closing March 16 at 8 p.m. through at least March 31.
