Genesis Hospice recently received thousands of donated dollars through the Genesis Volunteers Tree of Love fundraiser.

Genesis volunteers presented an $8,000 check Wednesday to Genesis Hospice, which is a not-for-profit organization.

“Our volunteers are a committed group of individuals who are dedicated to helping our community. We are glad that the Genesis Volunteers donated a portion of the funds raised from the Tree of Love to Genesis Hospice,” Jerry Nolder, Executive Director of the Genesis HealthCare Foundation, said.

Genesis Hospice has been operating in the community for over 30 years.

Donations from the Genesis volunteers, and others, provide medication and other supplies for community members being cared for in their homes by the organization.

“We’re grateful for the Genesis Volunteers’ donation as well as the compassion the volunteers give to our patients and families each and every day,” Pebbles Thornton, RN, BSN, OCN and Director of Genesis Cancer Services, Hospice and Palliative Care, said.
