A woman has been taken to the hospital after driving her car partially into the Muskingum River Sunday afternoon.

The Zanesville Police and Fire Departments were called to the scene near the intersection of Lee Street and Linden Avenue just before 3 p.m.

With the assistance of firefighters, the woman climbed a ladder over the embankment before being placed inside an ambulance.
