Zanesville water customers on the City’s south end are being advised to boil their water Monday morning following a water main break.

Around 7 a.m., crews were called to the area of Baker Street and Carey Street where they found a broken 12-inch water main.

Upon restoration, those living in the affected are told to boil their water until further notice out of precaution.

According to a public notice from the City’s Water Division, residents should vigorously boil water intended for cooking, drinking, ice making, and oral hygiene for at least one minute.

The streets of impact include:

  • Westwood Drive
  • Walnut Drive
  • National Way
  • June Parkway
  • Federal Avenue
  • Clay Street
  • Chester Street
  • Race Street
  • Arch Street
  • Maysville Pike from Spence Avenue South to Clay Street
  • Baker Street, including Cook Manor
  • Pine Street and all side streets between Maysville Avenue North and Shelby Street

The precautionary boil advisory will be lifted once water samples are collected, tested and cleared.
