Power restored to most customers after crash knocked down pole Monday morning

Power has been restored to many customers in the City of Zanesville and into South Zanesville following a vehicle accident that caused a major power outage.

Around 3,400 customers were affected Monday after the accident which occurred just after 11 a.m.

According to a AEP media representative, the accident occurred at the intersection of Cleveland Street and Moxahala Avenue. The accident caused a power pole to fall over which resulted in the power outage.

About 246 customers are still without power, but the representative said power should be restored to those customers by 3 p.m.

The customers still experiencing the power outage are concentrated between Coopermill Road and the Muskingum River in the area of Putnam Avenue.
