A two-vehicle accident obstructed the traffic flow in Downtown Zanesville Wednesday afternoon for a short time.

A blue Dodge pickup truck was driving southbound on Fifth Street and ran through a red light causing a collision with a white Ford Escort that driving along Market Street, according to ZPD patrolman Jason Keck.

The driver of the Ford Escort stated that he sustained injuries but refused transport to the hospital by Genesis Community Ambulance who responded to the scene.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene, and traffic has resumed.

The driver of the Dodge pickup truck will be cited for failing to stop at the red light.
