Two people were taken to the hospital following an accident that sent one vehicle into a decorative wall outside of The Community Bank in New Concord.

A pickup truck heading northbound through the light at the intersection of W. Main Street and Friendship Drive failed to stop and clipped the front end of an SUV that was driving eastbound, New Concord Fire Chief Brent Gates said.

The pickup truck then went into a stone wall in front of The Community Bank located on W. Main Street.

The driver of the pickup, as well as the passenger were taken to Genesis Hospital by New Concord EMS with non-life threatening injuries.

It’s unclear if anyone will be cited in the accident as both the New Concord Police and Fire Departments are still investigating.

The two people in the SUV refused medical treatment.

In addition the New Concord Police and Fire Departments, Muskingum University Police and H&K Towing were also on scene.
