The National Weather Service confirmed that an EF1 tornado made an appearance near Dresden during the storms late Monday afternoon.

It was determined that the tornado touched down around 4:50 p.m. inside Muskingum County limits with wind speeds up to 95 mph, According to NWS Pittsburgh.

Damage was mainly isolated to the area of Stillwell Road near Boy Scout Road.

The tornado is the 25th to hit Muskingum County since 1880 with the last one reported in Frazeysburg on June 5. It’s the third tornado to tear though Muskingum County since late May.

An assessment of the damage caused by the tornado is expected to be complete by late Tuesday afternoon.
