Famous racers are driving into the area for a third annual All Star Circuit of Champions Ohio Speedweek race hosted at Muskingum County Speedway.

Racers including Tony Stewart, Rico Abreu, Kyle Larson and others will be racing the dirt track at the local speedway beginning at 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 16.

“We’re super excited to have those guys back here,” Tristin Moran, the Operations and Marketing Manager for the Muskingum County Speedway, said. “There’s drivers from all over the country going to be here.”

The annual Ohio Speedweek starts on Friday, June 14, starting in Attica at the Attica Raceway Park and rounding out the Ohio Speedweek in Orrville at the Wayne County Speedway.

“It’s a nine race circuit, nine days in a row they race this Friday until next Saturday and they’ll have people kind of from all over the nation with their campers following all nine races track to track through Ohio,” Moran said.

Around 80 drivers will be in attendance, and over half of the racers are from other states including Indiana, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, California and Texas.

This is the third year for Muskingum County Speedway hosting an Ohio Speedweek race, although last year’s race was rained out.

Later this summer, Sunday’s race will be broadcast on MADtv. Moran said that broadcast will be the first time Muskingum County Speedway is featured on national television.

Those interested in attending the race can purchase pre-sale tickets by texting “tickets” to 740.607.2013 or tickets can be purchased at the gate. Ticket prices range from $25 to $40. Gates open at 2 p.m. and racing begins at 5 p.m.

Moran encouraged spectators to arrive early to see racers in the pit and potentially get a photo with some of the drivers.
