The National Weather Service confirmed that an EF1 tornado was twisted into the mix of Wednesday evening’s storms.

It was determined that the tornado touched down in an area northwest of Frazeysburg inside Muskingum County limits, According to NWS Pittsburgh.

The tornado is the 24th to hit Muskingum County since 1880 with the last one reported a week ago in Roseville.

Muskingum County EMA Director Jeff Jadwin was in Roseville Thursday assessing damage left from the May 28 tornado along with representatives from FEMA.

Wednesday evening, tornado sirens rang out across the county as residents reported seeing a tornado off I-70 near the 160 mile marker.

The NWS did not confirm the touchdown until Thursday afternoon.
