Tuesday afternoon crews from the Dresden Fire Department responded to a report of a downed power line on fire along Mollies Rock Road, west of Adamsville.
According to firefighter Jeff Garver, when crews arrived around 12 p.m., there was a small grass fire which occurred as a result of the downed power line.
An old tree had fallen on the power lines, damaging electrical wire and causing a small fire. The events resulted in loss of power to residents in the area.
Fire personnel waited until the power lines were de-energized by crews from Guernsey-Muskingum Electric then began extinguishing the fire.
According to Guernsey-Muskingum Electric there are currently 203 meters without power, with an estimated restore time of roughly 2:30 p.m.
