House catches fire in Adamsville

Fire crews responded to the scene of a working fire across from Adamsville Elementary Monday morning.

The fire began around 10 a.m. in the kitchen, and all occupants were able to evacuate the home safely, according to personal from the Adamsville Fire Department.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the kitchen, which has extensive smoke and fire damage, preventing the fire from spreading, before finally extinguishing the blaze.

AEP was on scene to disconnect the power from the residence, and the American Red Cross was dispatched to assist the family.

Adamsville, Dresden, Perry and Washington Fire Departments were on scene to assist with the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
