One of the ForeverDads Board members volunteered to end the organization’s annual golf outing with a little surprise.

Each year, the ForeverDads golf outing fundraiser draws a crowd. While more traditional raffles have been a part of the event in the past, this year was a first for doing a ball drop out of a helicopter.

About 104 golfers, volunteers and sponsors attended the 9th annual golf outing Friday at EagleSticks. Last year, the fundraiser brought in about $14,000 for the organization.

The goal for 2018 was to up the fundraising goal to $15,000, and with the addition of Value Care as the pathway sponsor and tee sponsors, the organization is ahead of track to hit its fundraising goal Executive Director and CEO of ForeverDads, Burl Lemon, said.

“It’s an opportunity for people in the community to have fun, support our organization so that we can continue to serve fathers and families in our community,” Lemon said.

While the 9th annual Fatherhood Golf Classic added an exciting element to the end of the outing, ForeverDads members are already looking anticipating the event next year.

“We’re looking forward to our 10th annual celebration next year,” Lemon said.
