Zwelling arrested in thwarted armed robbery attempt

A potential armed robbery was thwarted by Zanesville Police last week when officers received information tipping them off to the crime.

According to Chief Tony Coury, 35 year-old Ross Zwelling was arrested in the incident after police stopped him while driving a white BMW on Lindbergh Avenue around 9:00 the morning of Sept. 26.

Coury said in a release that Zwelling had a weapon in his possession at the time of the stop.

He was arrested and booked in the Zanesville City Jail.

Zwelling faces several felony charges including having a weapon under disability, possession of criminal tools, conspiracy to aggravated robbery and tampering with evidence.
