Health Department renovation bid awarded to Paul Construction
October 1, 2018
Paul Construction Company Inc. won the project bidding for the Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department renovations that will consolidate the department’s workforce downtown.
The Health Department has been operating out of two separate buildings at 205 North 7th Street and another on Putnam Avenue.
“We’ve been operating out of two buildings for some time now, and we’re very anxious to get this project started and get our staff in one building,” Hamilton said.
The Muskingum County Commissioners met with Hamilton and Jeremy Davis, the architect on the project, to score the four companies that submitted bids in order to make their decision. The four bids came from Lepi Enterprises, Paul Construction Company Inc., PCS Company and Beaver Construction.
“We’re very happy to get this project on the road,” Cory Hamilton, the Health Commissioner, said. “We have a lot of work to do.”
Although Hamilton does not have any experience working with Paul Construction, she’s confident that the company will be successful with the project.
“I feel certain that Paul Construction will be able to do this job, the commissioners have worked with them before and have had very good success with them,” Hamilton said. “Our architect has worked with them before and has had good results with them, and I’m very confident that we’ll be able to have a good outcome from this project.”
While a timeline has not been set in place for the project, Hamilton said now that a company has been chosen, there will be a meeting later this week or next to discuss the process.
