A man was arrested following a high-speed pursuit by the Ohio State Highway Patrol Sunday night.

Around 7:50 p.m. an OSP officer called for additional help for a pursuit in progress of one motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed heading Northbound on State Route 60, South of Downtown Zanesville.

OSP said two motorcyclists were both traveling at 133 mph when they passed a stationary patrol. Upon the officer initiating his overhead lights and sirens, one motorcyclist immediately pulled over while the other attempted to evade the officer.

The pursuit ended at State Route 60 and Dillion Road when the motorcyclist came to a stop due to heavy traffic, an on-scene officer said.

The driver that did not initially pull over was arrested and charged with failure to comply and traffic violations. He was taken to the Muskingum County Jail.

The driver that did initially pull off the road was cited.

It is unclear if drugs or alcohol were a factor.

Both motorcycles were towed from the scene.
