Balderson unofficially wins 12th Congressional District
August 7, 2018
Republican Troy Balderson is unofficially the newest U.S. Representative for the State of Ohio.
Balderson unofficially won the votes of Muskingum County and pulled ahead right at the end for a win over Democrat Danny O’Connor for the overall district.
The race was close between the candidates in the 12th district with the unofficial votes totaling 101,574 votes for Balderson (50.15 percent) and 99,820 votes for O’Connor (49.29 percent).
Green Party representative, Joe Manchik unofficially received 1,127 votes (.56 percent) in the district.
While Balderson may be the newest representative, the same position will appear on the November election ballot as this election was a special case due to a vacancy.

First I would like to congratulate Troy on his win. Second I’m not happy that I didn’t get to vote for him because only certain districts got to vote. Everyone should get to vote. Guess I don’t get the hole district thing maybe someone can explain. Thank you
