Many scholarships available to area students

By Staff Report

Deadlines are quickly approaching for many scholarships available to Muskingum County high school and higher education students.

Scholarship Central, through the Muskingum County Community Foundation, has announced an assortment of scholarships with deadlines to apply in March.

Heather Sands, Director of Grants Management for the MCCF, says the scholarships are available for a wide range of potential students from graduating high school seniors to adults looking to change careers.

In recent years, scholarships have also been made available to those looking to study or learn a trade through schools such as Mid-East.

Many of the scholarships listed below have been set up by community members in memory of family members or friends that have passed away.

Locally, students are told that an hour of applying could net upwards of $1,000.

“Their time that they spend now applying for scholarships and the effort they put in will make a major difference,” said Sands. “We are very blessed in Muskingum County to have so many scholarships available to students.”

Those who might need assistance with applying or more information on individual scholarships are encouraged to reach out for assistance by going to www.mccf.org or by email at scholarshipcentral@mccf.org or by phone at (740) 453-5192.
