September 16, 2020
Ahead of Vice President Mike Pence’s arrival Wednesday afternoon a heavy police presence could be seen gathering at the Zanesville Municipal Airport.
Pence is scheduled to speak at a “workers for Trump” rally inside the Muskingum County Fairgrounds around 5:30 p.m. in front of a large gathering of both supporters and media.
Originally scheduled for Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. the event was rescheduled to Wednesday afternoon earlier this week.
An itinerary and route for Pence’s arrival to the fairgrounds has not been publically released.
Police from both the City of Zanesville, the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSP), including a motorcycle unit, could be seen surrounding and guarding the Zanesville airport.
Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Snowplows could also be seen blocking the emergency access lanes along Interstate 70 between the airport and downtown Zanesville.
No more information about the exact path the convoy will take is available at the time of publication.
