Road closed due to large leak at gas station

South Pleasant Grove Road will likely be closed all day between U.S. Route 40 and Clay Pike due to a gas spill, Muskingum County EMA Director Jeff Jadwin estimates.
According to Sheriff Matt Lutz, the driver of a semi-truck used the parking lot of the Marathon gas station to turn around when she hit a gas pump and knocked it off the line around 11 p.m. Thursday night.
Lutz said the driver left the scene but was later located and questioned.
Criminal charges are still pending at this time.

My first response was removed.
I am wondering where the break away valves are for the pumps. As a former manager of an Exxon station, I know that they are required by law to have break away safety procedures in place for just such an accident. My question is why did this happen if those measures were in place?

Where is the break away valve on the pump? They are designed to stop a spill if this happens.

So the EMA called Zemba Brothers to clean up a gas spill at a Zemba owned gas station and the driver will be charged the clean up cost? Wow! Zanesville and Muskingum county is now just a subsidiary of Zemba Brothers.
