Quick actions by members of the Zanesville Fire Department Wednesday evening resulted in a house fire being quickly extinguished.

Around 7:15 p.m. a fire was reported at a residence along Osage Street. When first responders arrived on scene, smoke could be seen coming out of one of the back rooms.

Firefighters quickly entered the building and began combating the fire, which was contained to one room of the home.

Three adults and two children are temporarily displaced, however, Red Cross was on scene and working to assist the residents.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
