Kayaker rescued on Muskingum River

The Muskingum River is the scene of a multi-department rescue attempt on Tuesday.

A kayaker “having problems” on the Muskingum River was the subject of multi-department rescue effort Tuesday afternoon, according to the Dresden Fire Department.

Fire officials say it started north of the Ellis Dam in Zanesville before 4 p.m.

The man was rescued on shore along the banks of the river after firefighters located him around 4:15 p.m.

The Falls Township Volunteer Fire Department is investigating the incident.
