Masks required to use public transit
April 16, 2020
As the coronavirus pandemic progresses, South East Area Transit is continuing to implement new restrictions.
Most recently, SEAT announced it will require passengers to wear masks in an effort to protect both employees and customers beginning Wednesday, April 22.
Masks must fully cover the nose and mouth and can be medical or homemade. Bandanas and scarves are also acceptable.
Currently, SEAT is only providing transportation if it is essential.
Normal street routes were temporarily discontinued on Monday, April 13.
Customers must call the transit center to schedule rides.
Additionally, riders are restricted to one non-medical trip per week with priority given to medical and work-related transportation.
“We appreciate your patience as we continue to monitor the situation and adjust daily due to the Pandemic,” SEAT wrote in a statement.

I can fully understand the need for the masks, but with the current situation on supplies, shouldn’t SEAT be willing to supply clients with the masks? Many people that live by meager means do not have masks and therefore are being left out.
