Man arrested following rollover crash

The male driver of a Chrysler 200 was arrested for an OVI Friday afternoon following a rollover crash which ejected his female passenger resulting in her being transported to the hospital.

Around 1:30 p.m. the Muskingum County Dispatch Center received a call of a one car accident near the intersection of Lent Road and Ridge Road in Springfield Township.

According to troopers the Chrysler was traveling east along Ridge Road when it went off the right side of the roadway, struck a ditch, then a tree, before overturning.

The female passenger was ejected from the vehicle, however she was able to secure herself back inside the car until fire and medical personnel were able to arrive on scene.

She was transported by squad to Genesis Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The male driver was arrested for operating a vehicle impaired (OVI), he could also face additional tickets or charges.

The driver had minor injures that were treated on scene by first responders.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by members of the South Zanesville Fire Department and the Falls Township Fire Department.
