Rollover sends woman to hospital

A woman was taken by ambulance to Genesis Hospital following a rollover crash that occurred Monday evening along Pinkerton Road in Springfield Township.

Emergency personnel responded to a call around 5:30 p.m. of a vehicle off the roadway overturned. According to witnesses, other drivers were able to help extract the victim from her car, as it was smoking following the crash.

According to an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper on scene, the vehicle was traveling southbound when the driver lost control, overcorrected and overturned the Buick.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle suffered non-life threatening leg injuries and was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Troopers said they intend to cite her for failure to control and for not wearing a seat belt. Additional charges are possible after speaking to the victim at the hospital.

Also on scene was South Zanesville Fire & EMS as well as Falls Township EMS personnel.
