The local chapter of Ducks Unlimited is hosting its 44th annual banquet to raise money for the national organization’s mission.

Each chapter of the organization hosts its own dinners, raffles and other fundraisers to raise money for the nationwide Ducks Unlimited organization that is dedicated to wetland and waterfowl conservation and education.

According to Zanesville Ducks Unlimited member Jared Reynolds, 83 percent of the money raised for the organization goes to preservation and education.

Reynolds added that in 2019, over 1,000 acres of wetlands in Ohio were preserved by the organization. A large portion of those wetlands are located around Lake Erie.

In order to continue with the Ducks Unlimited mission, the Zanesville chapter is hosting its 44th annual banquet on Saturday, Feb. 15.

“It’s great to see the continued support that we get from our sponsors and patrons who have been attending our event for 5 to 30 years plus,” Reynolds said. “Also, seeing new faces every year is encouraging for the success of our local chapter and the future of Ducks Unlimited.”

Singles and couples over the age of 21 are welcome to participate in the evening full of raffles, live auctions, 50/50 raffles, door prizes and a steak dinner.

Tickets for the event are $75 for singles, $125 for couples, $275 for sponsors or $800 for a table for eight. Tickets include admission, appetizers, steak dinner and a chance at the door prizes. Additionally, there will be a cash bar.

Auction items include guns, hunting equipment and many other items.
