Winter Weather Advisory for Saturday

By Jessica Johnston, Assistant News Director

Along with many other counties across the state, Muskingum County has been placed under a winter weather advisory in preparation for inclement weather.

According to the National Weather Service, Muskingum and surrounding counties will be under the advisory from 1 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

A mix of precipitation is expected with up to three inches of snow and a glaze of ice, the NWS states.

The snow is also expected to turn into a mix of sleet and freezing rain further into Saturday morning before transitioning to just rain Saturday afternoon.

Drivers are encouraged to slow down and use extra caution while on the roadway as slippery road conditions are anticipated.

The NWS is asking people to report snow and ice by calling 412-262-1988, posting to the NWS Pittsburgh Facebook Page or tweeting at @NWSPittsburgh.
