Furry Friend Friday: This lab-mix is looking for a new home for the new year

By Jessica Johnston, Assistant News Director

Rix came into the Muskingum County Dog Warden and Adoption Center back in September.

His name was taken from Rix Mills where the dog wardens picked him up, Deputy Dog Warden Alisha Myers said.

Rix is an easy going dog that enjoys attention and does not mind anyone messing with his ears, feet or mouth, a volunteer with the adoption center said.

The volunteer said that Rix is good with other dogs, although he is afraid of cats.

Rix also plays well with young children. An ideal home for Rix would be one where he can be active but also have someone to cuddle up to and lay down with.

He is very affectionate and knows basic commands such as sit, down and speak.

Despite his “puppy” look, volunteers believe the dog is a few years old.

Rix takes treats nicely and walks fairly well on a leash.

Anyone interested in adopting Rix can call the Muskingum County Dog Warden and Adoption Center to set up an appointment for a meet-and-greet at 740.453.0273.
