Police investigate fatal Christmas Eve crash

A man has died following a crash just west of Zanesville on Christmas Eve.

According to a trooper with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, first responders were called to U.S. 40 near Polk Scrap Iron and Metal around 8 p.m. Tuesday where they found a 2009 Kia on its top.

Police believe the driver went left-of-center before hitting an embankment and rolling the vehicle.

The only person known to be in the vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene.

His identity has not been released.

U.S. 40 is currently closed in both directions as police investigate the crash.
