Chase Bank in Downtown Zanesville was briefly evacuated Thursday afternoon for reports of a gas leak.
Both the Zanesville Fire Department and Columbia Gas responded to investigate.
According to Assistant Chief Chad Janes, there was a minor carbon monoxide leak detected coming from the building’s heating unit.
In a statement from Columbia Gas, the company said crews were on site to inspect the building and traced the source to the rooftop unit.
“The unit has been shut off and the situation is safe,” Columbia Gas wrote on Facebook.
