Water outage Thursday morning

By Jessica Johnston, Assistant News Director

From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., the Muskingum County Water Department will be shutting off water temporarily along U.S. 40 near Spry Road.

Crews will be cutting into a existing line to place a check valve vault in order to prevent back-flow.

Homes between Bald Hill Road and Spry Road will be affected.

While the planned water outage is expecting to take four hours, department crews are hoping the job will wrap up early.

About 180 homes in the area will be affected by the outage, but not all of the homes are connected to the public line that will be shut off.

Stonegate Construction has been contracted to extend the water line to Rix Mills.

No businesses should be affected by the outage.
