The Muskies showed up to play this weekend.
Between the women’s soccer, volleyball, men’s soccer and football teams, Muskingum University notched 10 wins without a single defeat.
The women’s volleyball traveled to the Carnegie Mellon Invitational, where the Muskies handled Bluffton three sets to one and Mary Washington in three sets. The following day, Muskingum topped Kean and Elizabethtown in similar fashion, leaving the invitational with a perfect 4-0 record.
As for the men’s soccer team, a win on Sunday gave the Muskies their third-straight win after dropping four straight earlier in the year. On the women’s side, Saturday’s win over Defiance saw the Muskingum offense explode for five goals en route to the teams second shutout victory, helped by freshman defender Brittany Golden who was named the Ohio Athletic Conference’s Women’s Soccer Player of the Week.
Football, meanwhile, picked up its first conference win of the season, helped by an interception returned for a touchdown by senior linebacker Brandon Schon. Despite less than 70 passing yards, late clutch defense gave Muskingum their second overall win this season.
Macy McAdams of the women’s cross country team also garnered OAC Runner of the Week honors.
