Frazeysburg woman sentenced in Licking County for sexual relations with student
January 3, 2019
A former teacher from Licking County with a Frazeysburg address was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to her sexual involvement with a student last year.
According to Paula Sawyers, Chief of Felony Division at the Licking County Prosecutor’s Office, 39 year-old Kristen Grow engaged in a sexual relationship with her 18 year-old student while he was a senior at Northridge High School between February and May of 2018.
Sawyers said the sexual activity took place at the former English teacher’s home.
Grow was charged with one count of sexual battery in the case and will serve two years in prison.
Sawyers explained that even though the victim was 18 years-old at the time of the offense, in the State of Ohio it is a felony for school employees to engage in sexual relationships with students.
As a result, Grow will also be required to register as a Tier III sex offender.
