Zanesville City water customers on Westwood Hill had their water restored this afternoon after a 6-inch water line break caused an outage.

The break occurred at the western end of Alfred Street, next to a commercial property and did not interfere with traffic.

City water maintenance crews were on scene this morning around 6 a.m. and began working to identify and replace the multiple feet of damaged pipe.

Around 25 customers on both North and South Westwood Drive were affected and the damaged pipe has been replaced.

Crews were also dispatched late last night to replace a broken pipe on Moxahala Ave.
