Last night at 9:58 p.m. the Zanesville Police Department received a call about a motorcycle versus car accident at the intersection of Pine Street and Bates Street.

The call report states that the caller saw a man lying on the ground that didn’t appear to be moving.

There were two people traveling on the motorcycle, one was pronounced dead on the scene and the other was transported to Genesis Hospital for major trauma, Muskingum County Coroner Charles Feicht said.

The Zanesville Police Department and Ohio State highway patrol are investigating the accident.

Chief Tony Coury of the Zanesville Police Department has not yet responded to Y-City New’s request for comment.
