Thursday, July 12:

  • Pottery Lovers Week, which began Tuesday, is running through Saturday, July 14.
  • McCoy Pottery Collector’s Society Convention Show and Sale in alignment with Pottery Lovers Week. The McCoy Pottery Collectors Society is sponsoring its annual Convention of McCoy pottery collectors. It is a public auction that will begin Thursday.
  • Crooksville/Roseville Pottery Festival in conjunction with Pottery Lovers Week begins Thursday.
  • Pieces of California Potter Sascha Brastoff and Fenton Topaz Glass Display hosted in the lobby of John McIntire Library from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • 73rd Ohio Annual Exhibition at Zanesville Museum of Art from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The exhibition is celebrating the museum’s commitment to recognizing and promoting some of Ohio’s finest artists and artisans.
  • The Character of Mexico 1959-1960: Works by Dr. Charles Dietz at Zanesville Museum of Art from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Linn Auditorium. Dr. Charles Dietz was the Director of the Zanesville Art Institute from 1954-1995. He took time off to dedicate to his own painting from 1959 – 1960.
  • Summer Story Time at the John McIntire Library from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The event is open to children ages 2 – 7.
  • Blits Party! Hosted by the Libraries Rock! Program through the John McIntire Public Library beginning at 1:30 p.m. The event invites teens to come to the wrap-up party for free pizza and some tokens. Registration is required. To register call 740.453.0391 ext. 116.
  • Belhorn Pottery Auction in alignment with Pottery Lovers Week from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Welcome Center.
  • Basics of 3-D Printing Class hosted by the John McIntire Public Library from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. The free class is for teens and adults. Register for the class online at muskingumlibrary.org.
  • 25th Annual Hull Pottery Association Social at the Roseville Community Center from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The show and sale will begin Friday morning. The event is advertised at the largest Hull Pottery Show in the world.

Friday, July 13:

  • Human Trafficking 101 Class hosted by the Mid-East Ohio Rescue and Restore Coalition at the downtown library from 1 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. There will be a presentation to define human tracking and sex and labor tracking, then there will be educational pieces on how to identify and understand victims.   • 25th Annual Hull Pottery Association Show and Sale at the Roseville Community Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is advertised at the largest Hull Pottery Show in the world.
  • The Wilds Sunset Safari Tour at 4:30 p.m. Guests enjoy a buffet-style dinner before boarding a safari vehicle to see the animals up close in their open-range habitats. The tour includes a behind-the-scenes viewing of the property. It’s $75 per person or $70 per person for members. Make your reservation here.
  • Dinner and Entertainment on the Patio at Bryan Place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Call 740.450.8008 for details.
  • Comedy Club at Bryan Place from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Jeff Bodart and Mark Knope will be the comedians of the night. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door or by calling 740.450.8008. Food and drinks will be available.

Saturday, July 14:

  • Flat Track Racing at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds hosted by Throttle Jockey Entertainment and SNR Promotions from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. The gates open at 12 p.m., practice begins at 3 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased from Bob Tilley (740.319.3336), Angry Bull Saloon (740.819.5133) and Jugz World Famous Biker Bar (740.613.3234).
  • Fairy Gardens creation class hosted by the Muskingum County Library System at the volunteer building for the Mission Oaks Gardens in Zanesville from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. This is a hand-on class presented by Angel Mack who will show participants how to create their own fairy gardens. All supplies will be provided but reservations are required. Make reservations by calling 740.453.0391 ext. 116.

  • Pieces of California Potter Sascha Brastoff and Fenton Topaz Glass Display hosted in the lobby of John McIntire Library from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Zanesville Memorial Concert Band’s free concert from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Zane’s Landing Park. If it rains, the concert location will be moved to Secrest Auditorium. The event is free and family-friendly. Bring your own lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy the entertainment.
