The Oaks at Bethesda under Trilogy Health Services is hosting an event to benefit the Independence from Hunger Campaign.

The food drive began on May 28 and runs through the Fourth of July.

The Oaks is providing lunch to those who attend and bring either $5 or five canned good to donate to the cause.

Trilogy Food Truck will be distributing two types of boxed lunches: a lettuce wrap, side item, dessert and drink or a cheeseburger or hotdog combination with a side item, dessert and drink.

Participants will be entered into a drawing to win a one-year pass to Lake Isabella.

This is The Oaks’ third annual food drive event but the first year the event is open to the public.

The event is from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Oaks at Bethesda is located at 2971 Maple Ave. behind Genesis Hospital.
