Approximately one month prior to the primary elections, early in-person voting has started in Muskingum County.

Starting Wednesday, Feb. 19, the Muskingum County Board of Elections began inviting community members to its Downtown location at 627 Market St. to vote early during office hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Board of Elections is reminding people that “all ballots are now paper ballots.” Each voter will also need a valid I.D. in order to vote.

In-person early voting will end at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 16. Following the 2 p.m. deadline, the Board of Elections office will close. Voters will then be required to go to their polling location on election day, Tuesday, March 17 between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. to vote.

Those who may not know their polling location can go to Muskingum County’s Polling Location Search and type in their street name and number to search the correct location.

If anyone is unable to vote in person prior to election day or on election day, they are encouraged to vote via absentee ballot. To apply for an absentee ballot go to The Muskingum County Board of Elections webpage and click Download Absentee Ballot Request under the Absentee Ballot Links tab.

“The Board office must receive [an] Application for Absent Voter’s Ballot by noon on Saturday, March 14.” The Muskingum County Board of Elections stated in a press release. “Absentee ballots must be postmarked by Monday, March 16 to be accepted by mail. Absentee ballots must be received in office by 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17 to be accepted.”
