After more than 440 Zanesville residences were affected by a gas outage Sunday, Columbia Gas of Ohio is working to restore services to residents throughout the day Monday.

In order for services to be restored to a home, Columbia Gas crews will need to enter each residence for a safety inspection of each natural gas appliance. Once that is completed, gas can be restored to the home.

Beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, crews began restoring services on the following streets:

  • Bell Street
  • Cadillac Street
  • Clarendon Avenue
  • Crew Avenue
  • Kinzel Avenue
  • Maple Avenue
  • Marion Avenue
  • Moorewood Drive
  • Princeton Avenue
  • Rich Street
  • Richmond Avenue

According to a media release, more streets will be added as the day progresses.

Crews will make several passes through each neighborhood in an effort to restore gas to each home.

In order for Columbia Gas members to enter a home for a safety inspection, a person 18 years-old or older must be present.

Contractors with Columbia Gas wear ID badges and will show any residence that requests to see them, according to the release.

Streets that were originally affected Sunday include:

  • Ada Street
  • Bell Street
  • Cadillac Street
  • Clarendon Avenue
  • Crews Avenue
  • Kinzel Avenue
  • Leonard Avenue
  • Maple Avenue
  • Marion Avenue
  • Moorewood Drive
  • Princeton Avenue
  • Rich Street
  • Richmond Avenue
  • Taylor Street
  • Wabash Avenue
  • Wilmer Street
  • Winton Avenue

Columbia Gas of Ohio is still working to assess the cause of the outage.
