Columbia Gas of Ohio will soon start a gas line replacement project in White Cottage.

Starting the week of Sept. 23, about 60 customers in the area of Limestone Valley Rd./County Highway 652, Roberts Addition and a portion of Foxfire Road will be affected, according to a media release from Columbia Gas of Ohio.

Crews contracted through Columbia Gas will be installing new gas main and service lines to each home and building in the area.

Customers will receive advanced notice of the interruptions to their service. The release states that customers should only experience interruptions to their lines for two to four hours while their lines are connected to the new system.

If a customer’s gas meter is inside, it will be moved outside.

Any disruptions to areas including sidewalks, driveways, lawns and landscaping will be repaired by Columbia Gas.

The entirety of the work and the cleanup is expected to be completed by winter.

“Columbia Gas of Ohio has invested more than $1.5 billion in communities around the state to replace aging gas lines over the last decade. This is paying off in safety, with leaks reduced by 40 percent,” the release states.

Any residents with questions or concerns are encouraged to contact Michelle Day, external affairs specialist for Columbia Gas of Ohio, at 614.309.7576 or michelleday@nisource.com.
