A 71-year-old woman is in stable condition after rescuers pulled her from her car when she crashed just south of New Concord on State Route 83.

Emergency personnel responded to a call around 5 p.m. for a vehicle accident with an individual pinned inside the car. When authorities arrived they found the single occupant in her vehicle and were able to safely extract her.

According to troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the woman lost control of her Mercury Grand Marquis and swerved across both lanes of traffic before crashing into an embankment.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol and New Concord Fire & EMS were both on the scene.
